Kitchen Assistant

£12.00 per hour, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 2.30pm. To work term times within local education. This is a temporary position that may lead to a permanent position.

Catermatch Solutions are currently recruiting a kitchen assistant for a local education facility.

Your role will involve working in the kitchen helping with basic food preparation, cooking and baking, food presentation and keeping the areas of the kitchen clean & tidy.

Main duties include:

  • Prepare and cook fresh food from scratch using fresh produce
  • Ensure all food/ meals are produced on time
  • Prepare food in accordance with all guidelines and legislations
  • Ensure that the kitchen, equipment and utensils are all properly cleaned and correctly stored away
  • Responsible for the presentation of all produced and served
  • Work to respond to changing dietary requirements
  • Monitor and organise stock levels at all times
  • Ensure that deliveries are met and are promptly stored away as appropriate
  • Serve the pupils food in accordance to the schools portion control
  • Maintain temperature control standards for all food
  • Ensure that all personal and food hygiene procedures are applied at all times

You will be working as part of an established team.

A recent Food Hygiene certificate and enhanced DBS check is required for these positions.
